GROWING UP WITH TRADITION, CHILDREN ARE MORE CONFIDENT
Just one tradition that is repeated every year, makes children happy and grow confident.
Decorate the Christmas tree, look forward to gifts, and celebrate Christmas with a large family with special foods that are only available once a year. It's amazing! Every year from the first child to the third child, the atmosphere is still exciting for the children. Never get bored even though the event is repeated every year. Caring for tradition, what is the importance? Many families have traditions passed down from generation to generation. There are also families that eliminate certain traditions because they are considered outdated. What's the point of continuing the tradition?
Developmental psychologists agree that tradition gives meaning to children, that is, they feel they have an identity, they feel owned, and they feel connected to their ancestors in the past. Tradition also provides the foundation for value education in the family.
Is there a difference with the daily routine? Sure, mother. Although done repeatedly, but the daily routine does not involve symbols that give meaning to the family.
Daily routines are basic activities that serve to keep the family functioning well. Having dinner together every weekend, for example, is part of the routine. But having dinner together on mother's birthday at a favorite resto is a form of tradition.
PEOPLE CREATE AND MAINTAIN FAMILY TRADITIONS BECAUSE:
- Tradition gives meaning to celebration and encourages the creation of bonds in large families.
- Traditions provide positive experiences and memories for each family member. Children feel safe living in a family that has traditions and feels included. - Family traditions can contribute to the formation of children's self -confidence and improve their well -being. Children can find a sense of security and comfort when everything is predictable and consistent. - Tradition can create a connection for children that they feel part of something unique and extraordinary. - Family traditions help children understand themselves and what is important to have.
Continue, or stop?
Continuing the family tradition and living it is important, Mother. This is important so that pleasant experiences continue to be experienced by each generation. So that there is a bond between family members and with the past.
But keeping family traditions requires commitment and planning. While many people look forward to stability and predictable activity each year, it can be awful when tradition ends up spending a lot of money and draining the mind and energy to plan.
Mothers who want to create a tradition on the feast, just make it simple. For example, today is the little one's first Christmas, choose a Christmas tree that is not as high as the ceiling of the house because it takes a struggle to decorate it. Use the same Christmas tree for the following years, the same Christmas tree that the child will decorate in the years to come.
Cooking food that is too difficult can also be torturous. Set only one type of complicated menu, and you can get it by ordering.
Create exciting games that will only be played every Christmas day. If you want to invite relatives and parents to gather at your home, be sure to keep a health protocol.
The purpose of living this family tradition is to strengthen your bond with the core family and the extended family. Make the memories as beautiful as possible for the child to remember for the rest of his life.
